Welcome to Pond Home

Pond Home is a private, interdenominational nonprofit home that was organized and incorporated in 1899 by a philanthropic organization, the King's Daughters and Sons of Norfolk County to provide care for elders 65 and older. A volunteer Board of Trustees oversees professional management of Pond Home by Rogerson Communities, a recognized leader in not-for-profit management of elder housing and health services.

Pond Home is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Public Health as a Residential Care Facility. Pond Home also has a Supportive Nursing Care Unit for those residents needing additional care. We offer significantly more personal care than an Assisted Living Facility offers, but not as much medical care as a Skilled Nursing Care Facility is licensed to do. Up to 43 women & men can call Pond Home their home at any given time.

Pond Home Provides its Elders:

24-hour nursing care by staff who check on residents regularly
Medication management by nurses
Monitoring of vital signs, changes in condition, weight, etc.
Assistance with diabetes management including blood glucose checks
by a licensed nurse and administration of insulin.
All meals served in our dining room
Housekeeping and personal laundry service
Activities programming and outings
Linen service, beauty salon & much more
Hairdressing services are included in the monthly fee.
While many medical services are provided at the Home, transportation in
our handicap accessible bus is available to specialists that are not
available on site.

All are offered within a beautifully renovated and maintained home, that looks more like a comfortable New England Bed & Breakfast than a long term care facility.

Not sure what level of care you're looking for?
Here are specifics on the two levels we offer.

Residential Care * Pond Home Style

Residential Care or Level IV homes are licensed and regulated by the Department of Public Health including unscheduled inspections and complaint investigation.

All meals and snacks are provided based on a resident's doctor recommended diet. Meal planning is done according to resident preference and all meal breakdowns are reviewed by a Registered Dietician to verify proper nutrition.

24 hour on site Registered or Licensed nursing staff available to assess residents’ medical conditions and needs.

Nursing staff manage residents' medication needs – giving prescription and over the counter medication as directed by the resident's private physician, refilling prescriptions, monitoring resident's reaction to medications, providing recommendations to the resident's physician as needed.

24 hour on site Certified Nursing Assistant staff available for around the clock safety checks, remind residents of meal times, assistance to dining room, provide toileting reminders, assist residents in dressing, encourage participation in activities.

Personal laundry and linen cleaning are included in the monthly fee.

Weekly housekeeping of each resident room is included in the monthly fee, along with a full linen change on the bed.

Activities of interest to our residents are scheduled and run by our full time Activities Director.

The operation is supervised by a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.

Supportive Nursing Care * Pond Home Style

Supportive Nursing Care, also known as Level III residents receive all of the services listed above and enhanced housekeeping, laundry, and nursing care. At Pond Home we can provide all services found in a skilled nursing facility except for the care of feeding tubes and the administration of IVs. Residents who require these services cannot be admitted to or remain at a Supportive Nursing Care Home. Supportive nursing care includes rehabilitation services at a less frequent basis than found in a skilled nursing facility. These services may be covered under Medicare Part B. That means that a resident could be bed-bound, require staff to feed, transfer, bathe, manage incontinence and reposition them regularly and still be properly cared for at Pond Home.
